Residential Services

The Director of Residential Services is responsible for the overall operations of the 24-hour residential homes supervised within the Hope Enterprises Inc. organization. The Director of Residential Services, under the supervision of the Chief Programs Officer, is responsible for the supervision of the service programs which includes but is not limited to: developing, administering, and evaluating the day-to-day operational needs and strategic goals of the department, growth and development of programs designed for person-directed needs and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and ensuring regulatory compliance within the programs.

SPECIFICS DUTIES:
-Advocate for individuals' health, safety, and welfare at all times.
-Ensures compliance with all Hope policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality, as well as compliance with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies such as audits, licensing, and accreditation processes. 
-Identify service delivery needs and collaborate on policy and procedure improvements.
-Build and maintain relationships with the Administrative Entity, Supports Coordination, day programs, and support services.
-Monitor service delivery to ensure consistency and meet individual needs.
-Participate in the referral process and ensure all program requirements are met.
-Monitor unit utilization and service delivery to meet occupancy objectives.
-Collaborate with Senior Leadership in developing and managing the residential budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
-Oversee service provision to maximize occupancy and service delivery goals.
-Develop plans for program revision, expansion, or development.
-Contribute to the development, revision, and enforcement of agency policies and procedures.
-Provide regular verbal and written reports to Senior Leadership on program activities, census, and financial status.
-Collaborate with Senior Leadership in developing strategic objectives and residential service growth.
-Conduct monthly home visits with staff, ensuring follow-up on outcomes.
-Ensure homes meet cleanliness standards, individual needs, and maintenance requirements.
-Collaborate with Quality Management to lead the licensing inspection process and participate in the development of plans of correction.
-Oversee incident management and ensure timely reporting through HCSIS.
-Participate in Risk Management meetings to mitigate risks and improve service delivery.
-Collaborate with the support team to ensure effective implementation of Individualized Service Plans (ISPs).
-Direct and oversee the medication management process, providing training and mentoring to staff.
-Ensure individuals participate in community integration activities.
-Schedule and lead routine meetings with direct and indirect reports, as well as individuals served.
-Partner with leadership to manage staff communications, including preparing enrollment and new hire materials.
-Manage the budget for residential group homes, reviews and approves financials and receipts.
-Review and authorize attendance, requisitions, billings, invoices, and payables as needed.
-Monitor financial reports for effective use of funding.
-Perform additional duties as assigned, including serving as backup for supervised positions.

SUPERVISION
-Interview and hire personnel.
-Provide orientation and training; evaluate work performance. Address performance issues and follow up under the direction of the supervisor and ensure consistent application of disciplinary actions in conjunction with agency policies.
-Review, approve and submit time records, expense vouchers, and other required personnel forms.
-Ensure required operational paperwork is reviewed, approved, and submitted in a timely manner.
-Assist in developing work schedules for staff, to include on-call.Assist in coordinating temporary work assignments to alleviate staff shortages and ensure consistency in providing services.
-Oversee the development of caseloads to ensure consistency in service delivery.
-Ensure attendance at required meetings and training courses.
-Notify and consult with supervisors when additional support is needed.

HOURS: Exempt position – 40+ hours, some evening/weekend hours may be required.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Chief Programs Officer

POSITION SUPERVISED: 
 Supports and Services Managers

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
-A master’s degree in human services from an accredited college or university and 3 -5 years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities with supervision of others, or
-A bachelor’s degree in human services from an accredited college or university and 5-7 years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities with supervision of others, or
-10+ years of work experience working in a human services field with supervision of others

Necessary Credentials
-Obtain/Maintain Certified Investigator Certificate

-Must be collaborative, term-oriented, and professional, practicing Servant Leadership to develop team members and with interacting with staff, Individuals, and outside entities.
-Proficiency working with various software and technology including Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Electronic Health Records
-Must possess a current, valid driver’s license from state of residency and when required to drive an agency vehicle must be insurable under the Agency insurance.
