ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions of this position consist of the ability to communicate with advanced spelling, grammar skills, read and comprehend what is read, and possess advanced expressive and receptive language skills. DUTIES:

-Employee Relations and Communications
-Provides insight on the performance management system, including, standards of performance, performance evaluation instruments, and progressive discipline.
-Assists supervisors with disciplinary and separation meetings, ensuring compliance with related employment laws and practices.
-Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations involving employee complaints.
-Provides HR support to staff & supervisors relative to questions, policy guidance and interpretation.
-Attend administrative review meetings and provide HR insight
-Create, update and revise HR policies and procedures. Provide communication or training to staff as needed. 
-Conducts supervisor training related to employee relations for all new supervisors, and as needed.

Talent Management:

-Aids in the development, implementation, and administration of a full-cycle talent management strategy, including Talent Planning, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Training & Development, Succession Planning, and Total Rewards aligned with organizational goals.
-Collects, analyzes, and maintains data gathered to inform recruitment, workforce retention, and targeted leadership development. Translates data into strategic action plans.
-Teams with the HR Generalist regarding recruitment, onboarding, and retention activities.
-Assists with administering Hope’s compensation program. Ensures compensation practices are conducted in a non-discriminatory manner and in accordance with related laws and regulations.

Compliance & Reporting:

-Provides oversight of compliance with regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Chapter 6400 and 6500 requirements for employment.
-Maintain knowledge of the Office of Developmental Programs requirements in relation to Performance-Based Contracting

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion:

-Serves as the Chair for the agency’s DEI Committee
-Creates competitive advantage by creating and maintaining an environment of equal employment opportunity; collect and report EEO data; aggregate data to inform DEI strategy.
-Completes the annual EEO-1 Report; responsible for overseeing and implementing Hope’s Affirmative Action Program.

Other Duties:

-Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory and legislative changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practices, and resources to upper management.
-Utilizes the HR software system to support and streamline HR recordkeeping and processes
-Backup for the HR Generalist and Benefits Coordinator during absences.
-Perform other relevant job-related duties as requested by the Director of Human Resources.


HOURS:                                       40 hours per week – Exempt position

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:        Director of Human Resources

QUALIFICATIONS:               

Education and Experience:
-Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field with at least (1) one year of related experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and (3) three years of related experience, required.
-SHRM-CP or PHR, preferred

-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.

-Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HR system software.

-Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
